Neville Lederle

This outstanding South African national racer was widely regarded as being on a par with rival Rhodesian John Love by many of his compatriots. He scored a fine sixth in the 1962 South African Grand Prix at East London in his own four-cylinder Climax-engined Lotus 21 a week after making the front row of the grid for the non-title Natal GP at Westmead alongside Graham Hill's BRM and Trevor Taylor's Team Lotus 25. He finally retired for good in 1965.
